Actually, that basic argument goes back to 2015 with the only difference being that it was some sort of sociological experiment.
And, since I try to consider ALL possibilities, even if they would have almost zero chance, I still consider it. But I've also written why it would be highly illogical.
But let's look at your variation. It would require that not only WT is flat out lying, but that EVERY person who was at the hands-on event be in on it, maybe even a WT employee (BTW, that has been claimed as well). As well as every Treg member - including those who, prior to getting selected, were complaining about how ridiculous the wait was. You'd have to believe that they were all just plants set up in advance - over 100 of us - a rather sizable part of the entire forum membership. And anyone who met with a treg member and got to try it would have been rigged - anyone not in on the game simply wouldn't have any luck finding someone available to meet with them.
While this is possible, you also have the problem that a known writer for MacRumors would have to be in on it too - and willing to sacrifice her career when it is found out she was going along with a lie. That alone kills this hypothesis of no TB existing.
Then we have, whether the people are in on a conspiracy or not, at least the videos that show there is some kind of hardware. Sure, could be empty shells and the videos of typing with characters showing on screen are simply doctored videos. But someone had to actually make those empty shells that, you must admit, are a pretty impressive concept all by themselves, and it would take a nice chunk of change to create them just to troll!
But, okay, not a "zero" chance. But I suspect the chance would a zero followed by a decimal point, followed by a whole bunch more zeros before you get to another number!
So, people trying to explain, patiently, from their own knowledge which, since they have it, would be more than yours, makes you more suspicious???
Here's the thing. We testers all know this is very hard to explain so people can understand it when they don't see and use it themselves. We know because until we got one, it would have been hard to understand ourselves! The comments from treggers who said the same things you and other have show a pattern of this.
This includes me. While I never jumped on the hyper critical train, I still was shocked by all the tech and challenges in the TB - and without using it and having me do things with it while explanations came oven the phone, I wouldn't have really understood how complicated this all is.
