Greetings all, been lurking on this forum for a long time, but finally started an account so that I can post (working on my procrastination skills). Have seen a few interesting products recently while waiting for my textblade and wanted to bring up a few topics so here they all are in this very long post.
Every so often someone mentions linux, emacs, chinese or korean, but rarely do they all get mentioned in the same post. linux is not listed among the selection when you are asked which platform you are using, so I thought I would mention it here. It would be nice if we could show our preference for using this platform even if it is not officially supported.
I don't know if any of the TREG testers are using emacs but I would be happy to hear of their experiences using the textblade, because unlike many of the posters I'm not a vi guy and I find emacs invaluable for entering chinese and korean.
Bluetooth works well on my retina macbook pro which is running debian linux, and I expect that the textblade will work without a problem but I am most looking forward to using the keyboard when I am out and about, as typing on my little android phone is really inconvenient.
This leads to my next topic, some other products that I have seen advertised recently that could be used for typing when away from your computer.
Ideally I would love to pair the textblade with an e-ink display for use outside.
I recently saw this one... although it is super pricey right now and doesn't run linux (yet).
I also saw the superbook on kickstarter, a convenient method of typing on your android phone although not as high tech or as portable as the textblade it will provide a large screen full keyboard alternative.
