Hey all, so today Apple released iOS 11 beta 5 to Dev’s. After multiple testing with WayTools in earlier betas, there were issues of lagging, missed keys, sometimes the apostrophe key was not showing up on the screen, etc.
I had to go through different third party keyboards that I had installed and turn them off to isolate why things would happen. It was apparent that whatever was the most recent keyboard prior to pairing the TextBlade was the keyboard being used.
With beta 5, I am happy to report I have not seen any lag or missing key issues! I’ve also re-enabled other third party keyboards such as Gboard and I am finally able to toggle the on-screen keyboard non stop using the JKL’ command and cycle different keyboards while still paired with the TextBlade. Jumps is working more efficiently and much less (if any) states of “la la” where I had to either physically reboot the iPhone/iPad and TextBlade. Performance has been great.
In another thread, I was able to accomplish 92 wpm with 6 minor errors so it shows that the lag is almost gone.
As for General Release, unfortunately I do not get that information nor does WayTools share that with TREG members (at least that I am aware of). I can happily report from my end that the TextBlade I’ve been using thus far though is working great with iOS 11 and to me don’t see any gating issues. This is not to say other testers are having issues, but this is my experience. Hope this is helpful.
