Believers, disbelievers, and patsies, lend me your ears! For I'm here to share a rant that I wrote a while back (almost a year after I first learned of and bought the TextBlade) and after a few months of trying am finally on this forum. So this is kind of an introductory post as well...
But first, let me share my search for alternate keyboards. I've been in search of alternate keyboards ever since a bout of RSI back in the 2002-05 era, and so, back then I bought a tented Goldtouch (which fixed pronation & supination, but the key-feel was very heavy). Then I bought a Fingerworks' TouchStream LP for their zero-force idea, hoping to fix the pain in my fingers. It didn't... In fact, without feedback for my fingers, it kind of made it worse, by shifting the pain from my wrists to my fingers. But I loved the idea nonetheless and swapped it for a Fingerworks MacnTouch version that I then never got to use, as Apple changed to a uni-body laptop.
After that, I tried the AlphaGrip chording keyboard (almost bought a Frogpad for mobile use), and though the positioning was comfortable, the chord-combos were not. Then I moved to mechanicals and have been fairly happy figuring them out, adding bluetooth and generally playing around with electronics. But that's not enough in 2018 with so many things requiring input (and I hate touch-screens!).
So anyway, the original rant was prompted by the totally unique experience I'd had a few months prior of not knowing about a particular type of interesting keyboard, because the TextBlade/Waytools just popped up out of the blue when I returned to a keyboard website which I used to frequent (either geekhack or deskthority, I forget which, or perhaps it was DBK's post here?).
If you want to read it, there's a link below to Quora -- I have no idea who posed the original question, but it seemed a bit unfair considering there are two different places to get a refund. I had signed up for the TextBlade the year before, and seeing this question actually reminded me of it (it had been so long I'd forgotten about it). So the question goaded me into buying another TextBlade as I've always wanted to switch to Dvorak.
