Things are getting worse!
When I got back from lunch, by intention was to go through the hassle of disconnecting everything, moving the 4K TV to be near an outlet on the other side of the room. Do the same with the Mini. IOW, get it away from everything else by 5 free or more.
But before doing that, I thought maybe I should pair my TB to it so I’m not dependent on the dongle all the time.
Since the old TV was still working with the Mini, I was able to pair just fine, but the available slot I was using was one I used to have set to qwerty, just in case a friend want to try the TB.
So after pairing, I went to the TB app to change it to use a dvorak map. First I tried to do it within the Jumps section and later just through maps.
It would typically get the serial numbers and then go to the first “Cloud” section. It might get to say, “ok”, but it just kept spinning. Several times it just quit. I even tried shutting down the phone and restarting. Didn’t work.
So I go to my iMac and find out that, even though the WiFi icon is lit, I don’t seem to be able to get mail or load webpages! In fact, to send this message from my phone I had to turn off wi-if (I assume because even though it thought there was a connection, there really wasn’t and so it wouldn’t use cellular as long as WiFi was on.
So, having seen that issue, I just now went back with WiFi off and tried to apply the map. Worked fine.
Now I have to find out what is wrong with the WiFi (I did try unplugging it and plugging the power back in without success). And still see if I can get the display working.
At the store, when they looked at display prefs, it did have “default” marked. I don’t know any details beyond that.
