I think I'm on the other side here regarding promoting or recommending the TextBlade. If I'm happy with the product itself, and if I find it useful, I wouldn't let the production delays stop me from recommending it to others. I figure that the issues that have delayed releasing the TextBlade for so long are specific to the pre-release period rather than an ongoing issue. I've worked on plenty of projects that had deadlines pushed back but still delivered a great product when released.
I'll of course mention how long the wait was, especially during the first month or so after shipping starts when we'll still be getting a sense of what pace their back logged orders are clearing out. But a good product is a good product, and if the TextBlade is good, I'm happy to say so.
Of course, if it sucks, I'll say it sucks. But hopefully ensuring it doesn't suck really has been the driving factor in these delays.
