Not a rant, but while patiently waiting for the update, I came across this band from Japan. I know bands (especially from Japan) that play better, but not while doing such choreography at the same time as they are playing some pretty hard stuff. And, amazingly, there is even a girl doing all this stuff with an artificial leg!
The first video talks about her near the beginning. But, to me, the really fun part of their show starts at the 14:20 mark where they do a short intro to Star Wars, move into the Cantina Band piece, which merges into their trademark number, "Sing Sing Sing". So if you watch no other part, be sure to watch the 3 minutes starting 14:20.
I first saw a video of them in a parade - and they do the choreography while marching and playing! They also seem to play songs (as opposed to just a drum cadence) a higher percentage of the time than other bands. From videos I've seen, it appears they do about 14 minutes of mostly music. So I'm guessing that they then start over (I've since confirmed this). With all the demands of what they are doing, I would think 14 minutes one time would be exhausting - so keep in mind that the Rose Bowl Parade is about 5.5 miles long!
It tends to get more complicated and energetic as it goes along to at least the 7 minute mark. BTW, the girl with the artificial leg is in the last row on the right side of the band.
