Oh good, a list! I like lists!
Certainly agree with the first three (though my anticipation would not be because of delays!). Many others as well. But not all.
I know some people get mocked. Simply wouldn't bother me. I ordered from the start with the view that it might not ever ship. I'd only wonder why anyone would make a big deal about an individual decision that is for me to make with my money. BTW, if those folks bother you, you might consider how treg members feel when they are accused of having stockholm syndrome and other not very nice accusations. Even the claims that we are "rubbing it in". I have yet to see anyone do that, but I've seen lots of claims about it.
Definitely agree with the cautious optimism - for me it was when MacRumors got to use one since it was the first out of WT control.
Agree on the worry part. Heck, I still worry and will until it is released.
No anger here. Nor would there be if I wasn't in treg. After all, I considered the worst when I ordered. Substitute frustration for anger and I'd agree. And I'm frustrated now anyway.
I wouldn't feel betrayal either if I didn't get accepted. I didn't even sign up the first days because I thought they would probably be looking for people with particular credentials. I was encouraged by another customer to do so anyway. But if I hadn't been selected, I wouldn't feel betrayed because I was well aware that only a minority would be selected. Nor would I feel I was unfairly "jumped over" because the order is based on general release, not testing. Given a choice of more testing with people we never hear from or using some customers to test who I will hear from, I'll take the latter every time - even if I'm skipped over. After all, if they did the former, I wouldn't have it either.
"Petty Joy" is at least accurate. It is petty to take joy if you are trying to bait people - and not very nice to call them apologists. It's a label, not a rational argument. I know folks who think they bait me. But I'm just doing what I always do - which may be to defend someone from UNFAIR attacks, or point to flaws in a posts arguments. If they get a kick out of saying they baited me, that's their problem. It has no more meaning to me than if someone mocked me for ordering a TB and I wasn't a tester.
Don't know why you'd be "confused" about whether I'm a detractor or supporter. I just go where the facts and logic point me. So I support WT in many ways. And I criticize them too where appropriate. The only confusing thing is how often people say things like, "You always defend WT, no matter what".
Your frustration, while understandable, is misplaced. While it may well be that someone out there doesn't care that you don't have a TB and they do, no one has said anything to support that view. That is something you or others CHOOSE to read into their statements.
Sorry, but I haven't always lived in Hawaii and I've always responded to things the same way. If I see something unfair or illogical, I respond.
