Update on use of the Textblade
When typing regular text I am at the point where I do not think of the keys I need to hit, but the words I want to type. It is now “normal” and the mechanical keyboard is foreign. The major difference is with the sticky shift.
I am somewhat proficient with about 10 of the green layer keys. Including them in my passwords helps.
I have found if I use a regular keyboard, I need to spend the first 20 seconds watching the Textblade keys in order to reaclimate.
I still use the regular keyboard for spreadsheeting. I plan to program the num layer as gmadden has and start using Textblade for spreadsheets also.
The next challenge is to use the Textblade with MS Project, which is very mouse centric. Anybody have suggestions?
I found that it is easy to use the Splaceblade at a standup desk. It is more natural, no need to remember to spread my arms in order to increase accuracy (for the pinkies).
Although the Textblade is very portable, I find I still want more than one. Two permanent ones for home and office, and one for travel is about right.
